Psychological suspense shaped by wild places, folklore, and the things people choose not to see.
“The landscape is never just where the story happens.”
I write dark, atmospheric psychological suspense in places that have their own pulse: islands, tides, woods, moorland, coastlines. Places with histories, folklore and secrets that refuse to stay buried.
My fiction moves between Britain and the Nordics, where beauty and unease often live side by side.

Sandra MarslundThe Bone Tide
Thirty years ago, Katja Sommer fled a remote Danish island with a new name and a secret she intended to keep forever. Now, a man’s bone has been found buried at the childhood home she thought she had escaped.
Forced back to the island, she must unlock the summer she has spent decades trying to forget, before someone else tells the story for her.
My visual notebook
The places, textures and small details that find their way into my work: From Devon to Denmark and beyond, from sea and woodland to graveyards, books, and paths that look as though they might lead somewhere they shouldn’t.
